My Story

Guy's Cancer Charity was an obvious choice as a fundraiser for me. Working as part of the Oncology team at Guy's Hospital, I have been lucky enough to witness the incredible effect this charity has on a huge number of patients day to day.

Over the last 6 months, I have met individuals who display extraordinary bravery and determination in the face of some incredibly trying circumstances. Despite dealing with both disease and treatment side effects, they can always find reasons to smile, show gratitude and work hard during our gym sessions together. It is their resilience that has inspired me to take on my own challenge, and serves as an important sense of perspective.

Guy's Cancer Charity aims to support both patients and their families throughout their treatment, pledging to be there through every moment of progress and difficulty. It feels a privilege to take on this challenge knowing it will contribute to some of the amazing patients I have been lucky enough to treat and work with. Your bravery and work ethic is an inspiration to us all.

Anything you can spare for this incredible cause is so appreciated. Despite this being a huge personal challenge, it also serves as a grounding reminder that pain is a simple fraction of what some patients face day to day. For that reason, it feels only right to do my part and give back.

Thank you all,
